Morning Birdwatching in San Jose del Cabo: A Scenic Start to the Day

Join us for an enriching birdwatching adventure in San Jose del Cabo, starting at either 6:30 am or 7:00 am, depending on the season. We meet at Plaza Cactus on Antonio Mijares Blvd., right across from the picturesque San Jose Estuary, a renowned birdwatching haven.

Orchard Oasis: Birdwatching Amidst Palms

Our journey begins with a leisurely walk through a palm tree orchard, where you may spot various bird species like orioles, wrens, sparrows, woodpeckers, gnatcatchers, doves, raptors, mockingbirds, cardinals, and flycatchers. In the morning, it’s a symphony of bird activity, and you might even catch a glimpse of the Xantus Hummingbird, an endemic treasure. Additionally, while birdwatching, you’ll learn about the San Jose Estuary’s social and environmental significance and local history.

Sunrise Serenade: Birdwatching by the Water’s Edge

As the sun rises, the water’s edge offers a breathtaking spectacle, serving as a sanctuary for local aquatic birds and a crucial stopover for migratory species. Here, you might see pelicans, cormorants, ospreys, egrets, ducks, mallards, stilts, and sandpipers in their respective seasons. If water levels permit, you may also spot gulls, terns (in season), and frigate birds.
